Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 runs



Lasith Maling's five and Dinesh Karthik's 74 went in vain. Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 6 runs in the Champions League Twenty20 Group B Match at Johannesburg on Saturday.

This match was a formality game. Lions beat Yorkshire by 5 wickets and they reached semi finals. Chennai Super Kings made solid start. Murali Vijay and Faf du Plessis added 86 runs for the 1st wicket Partnership. Faf du Plessis smashed 52 off 32 balls with six fours and one six. Vijay made 39 off 25 balls. MS Dhoni quikfire 35 off just 19 balls and it consists of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Lasith Malinga take 5 for 32. Finally CSK ended the innings with 173 for 8 in 20 overs.

In the chasing the target of 174, Mumbai Indians lose Dwayne Smith and Sachin wickets very early. Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthick build the innings towards the target but it not go for long time. Rohit Sharma got out for 32. Dinesh Karthik top scorer for Mumbai Indians with 74 off 45 balls and Kieron Pollard made 31 off just 17 balls. Mumbai could only manage 167 for 7 in 20 overs. Ben Hilfenhaus named for the Man of the Match award for 2 wickets for 14 runs.
